I have taken and administered the various BJCP exams a few times, and also graded over ten sets of exams, and have some tips on preparation that some examinees have found useful. The new exam format will likely reduce the “endurance” factor needed to do well on the Written exam, but for those that wish to take the Written to achieve National or Master, it comes down to how much one prepares.
